Step 1:  Place bulb inside nostril while closing off other nostril.
Step 2:  Forcefully squeeze bulb and try to swallow at the same time to deliver enough air to pop ear.

Note: You may try putting water in your mouth and swallowing at the same time as squeezing bulb.
